Strategy to open more warehouses for new and existing clients
Abbey Logistics Group has opened a warehouse operation in Bromborough, Wirral, UK, to service the requirements a global manufacturer on a long term deal. Previously, Abbey partnered solely with Henry Diaper & Co in Knowsley to offer warehousing facilities and this relationship continues for customers with needs in that geographical area.
Opening its own warehouse was a logical step in the Company’s development.
The warehouse on Plantation Road, Bromborough offers Abbey an initial 6,500 m2 of ambient warehouse space with the potential to increase this to 13,000 m2 and is the first for Abbey outside of the existing Henry Diaper & Co arrangement which offers up to 46,450 m2 of space.
UKWA Chairman, Tony Mohan has joined Abbey’s Commercial Team on a part time basis to help deliver the strategy to grow the warehousing side of the Groups business over the next five years. Tony will help identify new opportunities for warehousing business across the UK and also a number of people from the warehousing industry to help run it operationally.
Abbey’s plan is to open more warehouses across the UK for new and existing clients. It has space available in the current Bromborough warehouse which it plans to fill first, then it will be looking for the next opportunity.
