Campbell Soup Company opens US logistics facility 26 September 2017

DHL Supply Chain has been working with Campbell's since 2013

DHL Supply Chain, in partnership with Campbell Soup Company, has opened a new distribution centre in Fort Worth, Texas, US. The facility covers nearly 10 football fields worth of space, aiming to set Campbell's distribution operations apart from its competitors, meeting increased customer demand and allowing for greater responsiveness.

The Fort Worth distribution centre now serves as the hub for the Company's distribution in the south, housing nearly 43,000 pallets of product for one of the nation's largest food product conglomerates. Fort Worth's proximity to major rail and truck transportation hubs will provide a boost in customer responsiveness for Campbell's.

The facility brings 120 jobs to the Fort Worth area. DHL Supply Chain has been working with Campbell's since 2013, and this is the next step on a collaborative journey to improve the Company's supply chain bandwidth and deliver an even better customer experience.

In addition to storing and distributing Campbell soups, sauces, beverages, snacks and meals, the facility provides Campbell Soup Company with the capability to assemble customer-requested deliverables such as mixed packs, bundle packs, cartons and displays. Additionally, the facility will begin distributing Pepperidge Farm cookies and snacks in early 2018.

To compete and thrive in this environment, Campbell Soup Company needed to enhance its distribution capabilities. The Company believes that the most effective and efficient way to meet dynamic customer and consumer needs today and in the future is to leverage the expertise of a 3PL partner.

Additionally, Campbell announced that they plan to test eCommerce capabilities at their Rancho Cucamonga, California facility, a facility that was the Company's first partnership with DHL Supply Chain, before expanding to the rest of their distribution centre network.
