Service presents a real commercial opportunity for e-tailers
Chronopost, France's leading express parcel delivery operator, has launched Sunday deliveries. The offering is unique in France, available throughout the Ile-de-France region and in 14 major cities. This new delivery service will revolutionise online buyers' consumption habits by offering an extra day for delivery. It is a welcome solution for e-merchants and the customers, given that delivery continues to be a decisive element in online purchases.
According to a Chronopost survey, 92.57% of customers placing an order on the Internet on Friday would like to have the choice between Saturday or Sunday delivery. This finding has been confirmed by the Sunday delivery trial, launched a year ago with Cdiscount in the Paris region.
A unique offering on the French market, Sunday delivery now presents a real commercial opportunity for e-tailers. Chronopost will deliver on Sunday between 9am and 1pm, to home or a work address. The service is initially available in Paris, Ile-de-France (77, 78, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95) and in 14 major French cities (Nice, Marseille, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Rennes, Grenoble, Nantes, Reims, Lille, Strasbourg, Lyon, Toulon and Aix-en-Provence), with coverage to be expanded as of 2018.
Sunday delivery is in keeping with the latest innovations achieved by Chronopost. Since 2015, the express delivery company has deployed a number of different solutions to provide its customers with more detailed information and better tracking, including:
> delivery by appointment, with a choice of 2-hour time slots, from 8am to 10pm with Chrono Precise,
> same day evening delivery, from 7pm to 10pm with Chrono Sameday,
> Predict 1h, providing notification the day before and the morning of the delivery, with a 1-hour window for delivery, access to real-time tracking and the ability to reschedule delivery (change the delivery date or location - to a neighbour, to a pickup point, to a post office or to a safe place).
Cdiscount is committed to offering its customers an ultra-competitive delivery service with a choice of innovative and ‘tailor-made’ solutions. For the past year, in order to further enrich its range of delivery offers, the e-merchant has trialled Sunday deliveries exclusively with its Paris and Hauts-de-Seine customers.
