Working together since the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games
DB Schenker has extended its agreement with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to provide logistics, courier services, freight forwarding and customs clearance services for a number of IPC events, including upcoming Paralympic Games, until the end of 2020.
Under the terms of the new agreement DB Schenker will support the IPC for the Pyeong Chang 2018 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and other events, while the IPC will look to offer DB Schenker’s services to a number of Local Organising Committees, broadcasters and IPC members.
The Athens 2004 Paralympic Games marked the first time the IPC and DB Schenker worked together. Since then the transportation and logistics provider has supported the IPC at a number of Paralympic Games and World and regional Championships.
The IPC is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. It co-ordinates the organisation of the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, and serves as the International Federation for 10 sports, for which it supervises and manages the World Championships and other competitions.
