DB Schenker makes senior management changes 09 March 2016

Appoints CEOs of DB Schenker in Austria and Germany

DB Schenker has announced management changes in Austria and South Eastern Europe. Helmut Schweighofer was appointed CEO of DB Schenker in Austria and South East Europe on February 1, 2016, while his predecessor in this position, Kurt Leidinger has been transferred to Germany and is now the new CEO of Schenker Deutschland AG.

Schweighofer began working at DB Schenker more than 20 years ago. He has been a member of the Management Board since 2013, most recently serving as Head of Land Transport. Prior to that, he served, among other things, as the authorised representative in the DB Schenker office in Röthis in Vorarlberg and as Managing Director of the DB Schenker subsidiary in Bulgaria.

DB Schenker in Austria and South East Europe is now led by the ‘Board of Four’, which consists of Mag. Helmut Schweighofer (CEO and Land Transport, including rail), Michael Meyer (Finance and Accounting, Controlling, Legal, and Purchasing), Christian Hein (Air Freight and Fairs), and Mag. Alexander Winter (Ocean Freight and Logistics)

Kurt Leidinger, who began his career at DB Schenker as an apprentice, joined the Management Board in 2008 and successfully guided DB Schenker in Austria and South East Europe as the Company’s CEO between 2013 and 2016. Leidinger, who is originally from Upper Austria, officially assumed his new position in Germany on February 1.
