DB Schenker to manage UK logistics centres for Hitachi 02 October 2017
Managing two main warehouses in London and Doncaster
DB Schenker has secured a long-term contract to manage Hitachi Rail’s warehouse and spare parts distribution processes in the UK. It will provide warehouse and transport solutions for a wide range of parts, from smaller consumable items to eight-tonne bogies and generator units.
The Company will support Hitachi Rail Europe’s train maintenance centres and fulfil order to sites at London, Bristol and Doncaster. Two new sites are also set to join Hitachi’s portfolio in 2018, at Bounds Green in London and in Edinburgh.
As part of the contract, DB Schenker will manage two main warehouses for the Japanese giant, a southern central warehouse in London and a northern central warehouse, planned for completion in 2018 and to be located around Doncaster.
