DHL has embarked on a two-year investment programme to meet increased demand for British goods overseas and facilitate the boom in global e-retailing. The infrastructure upgrade is the Company’s biggest investment in the UK for 14 years. DHL is to invest £156.0 million. The biggest share of the investment, £122.0 million, will be spent on improving sorting and aircraft landing facilities in the East Midlands and at Heathrow. The remainder of the funding will be used to upgrade sites at Manchester, Croydon and Sheffield.
