Handling time and temperature-sensitive products
DHL Logistics has identified two locations to set up a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in North India next year with an investment of between €5.0 million and €15.0 million. DHL Logistics set up the first FTZ in Chennai five years ago.
The North Indian FTZ will be designed to handle time and temperature-sensitive products from life-sciences and pharmaceutical industries, hardware from the oil & gas and aviation sectors, as well as luxury products among others.
The Chennai and Mumbai FTZs are also being expanded in response to growing demand for logistics management services from the Indian market. There is strong growth in India's small and medium sized industries driving demand for logistics management.
