DSV opens new logistics centre in Bochum for dm-drogerie markt 26 September 2017

DSV has formally opened a logistics centre at the Stahlhausen business park in Bochum, Germany. The 42,100 m2 facility, made up of 40,000 m2 of warehouse space and 2,100 m2 of office space, is located at the former Thyssen-Krupp, 90,000 m2 industrial site. It is one of seven volume distribution centres (VDC) that DSV operates on behalf of dm-drogerie markt. The two companies have been working together for over 30 years.

Construction of the facility began in September 2016. The distribution centre is the largest facility that DSV operates in the retail sector. The new location provides twice as much space as the existing logistics centre at Sinterstrasse, operated by DSV.

At the logistics centre, DSV manages high volume products for its client, such as nappies, kitchen rolls and toilet paper.

DSV supports nationwide supply from distribution centres operated by dm-drogerie markt and DSV (in Weilerswist, Vaihingen, Bochum, Langenbach, Gernsheim, Peine and Leipzig). On an average day more than 12,000 pallets are loaded on to more than 1,000 trucks.
