Further developing its distribution network in the Nordic region
Driven by strong growth in the eCommerce sector, PostNord is now investing in modern technology and more floor space at its terminal in Langhus in Norway, to cater for the increases in volume in that country.
The Company is making an investment in the Oslo region to ensure future growth and development in its eCommerce operations. The investment will help increase capacity and develop its distribution network in the Nordic region, and safeguard its position in the Norwegian market.
As a result of the investment in the terminal in Langhus, PostNord’s capacity in Norway will increase to 250,000 parcels per day. At the same time, the expansion of the sorting facility will also lead to more automated parcel handling and better delivery precision. Overall, the terminal space will be increased by 10,000 m2.
The expansion work will start in Q2, 2019 and is expected to be completed during Q3, 2020. The plan is that the expansion will be ready by mid-September, so that the new terminal can be properly tested in good time before Black Friday and the Christmas period in 2020.
