Developing the healthcare industry to be more globally competitive
FedEx Express has announced the expansion of its SenseAware service to Korea. SenseAware is the next-generation information service that empowers customers to have better control of their supply chains and stay connected to their most critical and environmentally-sensitive shipments.
The Korean government is developing the healthcare industry to be more globally competitive. As part of their plan announced at the National Policy Council meeting in 2016, government agencies including the Ministry of Health and Welfare were tasked with developing the Korean healthcare industry over the next five years and increasing exports to KRW20.0 trillion by 2020. With SenseAware, Korean customers can benefit from greater security and visibility when sending their healthcare shipments overseas.
SenseAware will benefit customers in a range of industries which require access to highly valuable or time-sensitive products including, aerospace, healthcare, high technology product, high-end merchandise and financial industries.
SenseAware is a state-of-the-art sensor technology that combines a multi-sensor device with a powerful web-based application. Not only does it enable customers to access shipment data while in transit and receive real-time customised alerts, it also allows them to share shipment information with business partners across the supply chain.
SenseAware can monitor current location, precise temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, light exposure and shock events. For temperature-sensitive shipments, the SenseAware device supports a dry-ice probe, which monitors temperatures ranging from -80C to +60C (-112F to +140F) and a cryogenic probe which can monitor shipments from -195C to +60C (-319F to +140F).
The latest SenseAware PT300D device features a 3G dual-mode capability and is compatible with telecom networks in Korea.
First launched in the US in 2009, SenseAware is now in 43 markets worldwide, including Australia, Guam, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan in Asia Pacific. The service is also available on a growing list of air and ground transportation carriers, giving more transportation options to customers in order to better fit their specific needs.
