Responding to a challenging container shipping industry that is rapidly evolving
Global freight forwarder IJS Global has opened new branches in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and Luxembourg and has appointed a new Ocean Freight Director. The Company appointed Dave Minnebach as Ocean Freight Director EMEA, Jean-Luc Demoulin as Branch Manager Luxembourg, and Michael Leentjes as Branch Manager Rotterdam, as part of ongoing global expansion plans.
The Company is responding to a challenging container shipping industry that is rapidly evolving, and the demand for highly specialised ocean freight solutions, such as shipping sensitive pharmaceuticals, is increasing.
Minnebach will be based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, where he will head up the forwarder’s Ocean Freight Division. Demoulin will manage the new Luxembourg branch, whilst Leentjes will be in charge of the Rotterdam office, which officially opens this month and will serve as the headquarters of the Ocean Freight Division.
Minnebach brings over a decade of experience in container shipping, including management roles with Hapag-Lloyd. Leentjes, who brings two decades of experience in transport and logistics including with DB Schenker and FedEx, will report into Minnebach and is looking forward to building IJS Global’s ocean product. Demoulin has over 20 years’ experience in transport and logistics, with four years in the pharmaceutical industry.
IJS Global is building up its Luxembourg office to be its main European air freight hub, supported by extensive road feeder services delivered by its strategic partner H.Essers.
IJS Global has also recently appointed Dan Ipsen to head up its new Time Critical Division, and has opened a new branch in Switzerland headed by Katharina Tyrakowski.
