Strengthens service levels and reinforces commitment to Indian market
Jaguar Land Rover has formally opened its new 6,500 m2 parts distribution centre (PDC) in Bhiwandi, India. The facility will supply local dealers, increasing the responsiveness of sending parts to customers. It further strengthens service levels and reinforces JLR's long term commitment to the Indian market.
The regionally-optimised inventory will supporting both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands. The facility will have a dedicated on-site team, and will be controlled by JLR’s central Inventory Management team.
The facility will aim to be one of the safest warehouses in the country, equipped with a state-of-the-art fire-fighting system. In addition to overhead sprinklers, the new PDC also has in-rack sprinklers for better safety.
The Jaguar range in India includes its locally-manufactured XF and XJ models, as well as its F-TYPE sports car. The F-TYPE is sold in India as Completely Built Up (CBU) units.
Land Rover offers five models in the country, with the Range Rover Evoque and Freelander 2 being manufactured locally. The other models on offer are the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery 4 that are all sold as CBU units.
