e-tailer has successfully reduced supply costs in recent months
According to local press reports, Indian fashion e-tailer Myntra has discounted talk of merging its in-house logistics operations with the logistics business unit of Flipkart, Ekart. Instead, Myntra Logistics will be a vehicle for the provision of value added services to the fashion sector.
Flipkart acquired Myntra in 2014 and reports has suggested that combining logistics assets could better leverage efficiencies of scale. However, Myntra has successfully reduced supply costs in recent months. Myntra’s logistics operations are currently served by a number of service providers, such as its in-house unit, Myntra Logistics, Ekart and Blue Dart, among others.
