Offering greater cost efficiencies, reduce shipping times and increasing service capabilities
Nike has opened its new North America Logistics Campus in Memphis, its largest distribution centre worldwide. The 260,129 m2 facility holds all three product lines footwear, apparel and equipment under one roof and distributes Nike and Jordan Brand products to individual consumers, wholesale customers and Nike’s own retail channels.
The facility was built to offer greater cost efficiencies, reduce shipping times and increasing service capabilities for the Company’s consumers and retail partners. LEED certification guidelines were followed and the operations have elevated the Nike Supply Chain in ways that impact its entire portfolio and strengthen the brand.
The opening of NALC-Memphis is the latest touch point in Nike’s 30-year history in Memphis. The first distribution centre was opened there in 1982 when Nike revenues stood at just under US$700.0 million and yesterday the Company announced it had surpassed US$30.0 billion in revenue.
