In Q4, the Company delivered just over 50 million parcels
PostNord has reported full year net sales of SEK38,278.0 million (37,669.0), an organic increase of 0.6%. Adjusted operating income was SEK541.0 million (129.0), as operating income totalled SEK184.0 million (-855.0). Net income for the period was SEK-239.0 million (-1,067.0).
The improvement in income over the full year was the result, above all, of efficiency improvements and favourable growth in prices. B2C volumes increased by 10.0% over the full year.
In Q4, 2019 net sales totalled SEK10,267.0 million (10,225.0), an organic decrease of 0.4%. Adjusted operating income was SEK181.0 million (200.0). Operating income totalled SEK35.0 million (193.0). Net income for the period was SEK-73.0 million (123.0)
eCommerce continues to drive growth in the logistics business and in Q4 the Company delivered just over 50 million parcels. Compared with Q4, 2018, B2C volumes increased by 6.0% and by 10.0% for the full year. In the course of 2019, the Company invested approximately SEK 1.4 billion in parcel terminals, sorting machines, vehicles and digital development.
During the quarter, the Company delivered just over 410 million letters. The decline in volumes was 7.0%, compared to Q4, 2018.
Looking ahead, the Group is in the middle of a paradigm shift, driven by changes in patterns of communication and consumption. PostNord’s future lies in the parcels business. At the same time, it is keen to ensure a good postal service for everyone in Sweden and Denmark.
