Retailer takes operations in-house at three logistics centres
According to local press reports, Walmart is taking warehouse operations at facilities in Eastvale and Fontanna, California back in-house, ending a logistics contract with Schneider Logistics. The retailer will begin operating the Eastvale warehouse in April and will offer employment opportunities to Schneider staff impacted by the developments.
Separately, Walmart is also to take over its Elwood, Illinois warehouse operation. The retailer is taking in-house management of a distribution centre also run by Schneider Logistics, also in April. The move will impact 589 jobs in Elwood.
