SEUR joins INSPIRA Madrid project to create Europe's first hydrogen-powered delivery fleet 16 November 2021

Development of hydrogen manufacturing infrastructure and refuelling points

SEUR, whose challenge is to become the most sustainable express transport company in the sector, joins the Inspira Madrid project, which aims to promote renewable hydrogen as an alternative fuel and meet the challenge of the progressive decarbonisation of urban land transport. To this end, a green hydrogen production plant and a network of at least five refuelling stations will be developed to meet the needs of the transport sector in Madrid.

This is an initiative led by the Professional Taxi Federation of Madrid, Madrileña Red de Gas, FRV, Meser, Toyota España and Grupo Ruiz, with the collaboration of PWC as strategic advisor to the consortium. A group of different companies which represent the different fleets that move around Madrid every day: passenger transport, private vehicles and now, with the incorporation of SEUR, freight transport.

This way, the express delivery company will bring in a first phase its experience within the last mile area in order to gather the best knowledge on urban mobility and contribute to the creation and development of the necessary infrastructure for renewable production and refuelling of hydrogen.

The substitution of hydrocarbons for hydrogen will reduce the emissions generated in the region of Madrid by the mobility of goods and people by more than 14,000 tons each year. Therefore, with this alliance, the Company reinforces its commitment to contribute to improving the citizens' quality of life through sustainable actions.
