Thermotraffic offers temperature-controlled groupage for pharmaceuticals 05 November 2014

Thermotraffic has launched a new service, offering temperature-controlled groupage transport for pharmaceuticals from Germany to Austria. This new offer is targeted at pharmaceutical companies who are looking for cost-effective quick transport solutions. Twice a week pharmaceutical products are transported at a temperature range of +2/+8C and +15/+25C to a depot in Wels/Austria as fast as possible.

The Company expects to see a continuous increase in traffic to and from Austria and subsequently also to and from Eastern Europe.

Due to a widespread distribution network, loads can then be quickly distributed to wholesalers, hospitals or pharmacies. Deliveries to recipients generally take place within 48 hours. The new service is suited especially for small deliveries of one to five Euro pallets. Bigger part loads or full truck loads are still handled as direct transports.

Thermotraffic’s Pharma Competence Center organises the entire logistics chain, seeing to it that products are processed according to GDP guidelines and delivered on time. By continuously recording the temperature, Thermotraffic pays special attention to an unbroken cold chain.

By adding Austria to its list of destinations, Thermotraffic is expanding its groupage freight transports and network within Europe.

In the medium term, this groupage freight service is also planned to be offered for other Eastern European countries as well.
