First time TICCO has outsourced both its warehouse and final mile delivery operations
First time TICCO has outsourced both its warehouse and final mile delivery operations
ACS&T has been awarded a ten year contract by TICCO Foods, for the installation and management of a new 1,500 pallet frozen, chilled and ambient storage facility, and the operation of TICCO’s existing twelve-vehicle van delivery fleet. The agreement will give third parties access to the direct delivery fleet, creating a shared-user, final mile delivery platform which charges at case level. Tariffs are charged at a flat rate, irrespective of the value of the order.
The two companies have worked together on the construction of the new coldstore at Colnbrook, Berkshire. ACS&T has worked with TICCO Foods for 18 years and will operate the facility, covering storage, order management, picking and despatch for both retail and wholesale delivery channels. ACS&T will also handle the management and operation of the Bindi and TICCO liveried vehicles throughout the South East of England, delivering individual cases from kerbside to the end-user kitchen. TICCO’s vehicles and drivers in the South East, along with warehouse staff, will transfer under TUPE to ACS&T.
The operation will be the first time TICCO has outsourced both its warehouse and final mile delivery operations to a 3PL. It will significantly enhance the service offering from ACS&T, enabling it to better fulfil the needs of a greater range of food service companies.
Customers increasingly seek logistics providers who can transport smaller quantities of goods, more frequently and final mile delivery networks are developing to respond to these requirements.
