UPS appoints new Country Managers for Hungary, Romania, Greece and Netherlands 10 March 2016

Tim Helsen will manage operations in The Netherlands

UPS has appointed Jim Kearney as Country Manager for Hungary, Romania, and Greece. Jim will replace Tim Helsen, who will manage the Group’s operations in The Netherlands. Helsen has been managing UPS’ operations in Romania, Hungary and Greece since November 2014.

Jim Kearney joined the group in 1989 as a billing clerk in UPS’s UK finance and accounting department, based in London. In the following years, he held various positions in the UK finance and accounting department. In 1999, he became Office Manager of UPS’s European Consolidated Service Centre in Dublin, Ireland. Four years later, Kearney moved to Brussels to work as a Finance Manager in the UPS Europe finance and accounting department.

In 2004, Kearney was promoted to Controller for what was then UPS’s Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa district, based in Brussels, and one year later he moved back to Dublin to serve as Controller of UPS’s Consolidated Service Centre. In 2009, he became the Country Manager of UPS Ireland.

In 2011, Kearney accepted the position of Director of UPS’s Europe, Middle East and Africa Authorised Service Contractor countries and in 2013 accepted the role of UPS East Europe district Authorised Service Contractor Director, working out of Ireland.

UPS Romania had a turnover of €32.0 million and a net profit of €0.4 million in 2014, according to official data from the Finance Ministry. The results for 2015 are not yet available.
