International fashion and textile industry represents a key sector for DHL
DHL has been appointed as the official Fashion Logistics Partner of the Colombo Fashion Week, which is running from the 5th to 7th of February 2010. With this partnership, DHL aims to encourage and promote commerce between regional designers and retailers, uplifting the fashion industry in Sri Lanka.
The international fashion and textile industry represents one of the most important sectors for DHL. DHL estimates the Fashion and Apparel Logistics industry to be worth US$3.9 billion per annum in South Asia. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka alone are estimated to account for well over US$2.4 billion in this fast-growing industry.
The Colombo Fashion Week will showcase 10 designers each evening and the invitee list will include decision makers, leaders in the fashion industry, foreign designers, representatives from designer labels and international media.
In addition to the Colombo Fashion Week, other cities where DHL partners Fashion Week events include Berlin, Istanbul, London, Miami, Milan, Mexico City, Moscow, Mumbai, New York, Sydney and Toronto.
