Delivers consignments between one and four times a day
Logwin and the car manufacturer BMW have extended their cooperation. Since October 2009, Logwin has been handling daily deliveries of BMW original parts to around 90 BMW dealers in Nuremberg and the surrounding area. Since the project launch, delivery quality and punctuality have been running at over 99.0%.
There are around 12,000 original BMW parts, ranging from screws through to air conditioning systems, stocked in BMW’s Dealer Metro Distribution Centre (DMDC) in Nuremberg. Logwin uses its PartsDirect product in order to ensure same-day delivery. From Nuremberg, the logistics service provider supplies BMW dealers with over 100 daily drop-offs.
Logwin receives the packaged and labelled goods and accompanying documents at the DMDC, from where transport is required to dealers directly or via hubs in Bayreuth, Plauen and Erfurt. Delivery takes place within prescribed time slots, with more than 30 vehicles being used for this. Depending on the size of the order and the distance, Logwin delivers consignments between one and four times a day.
From 1st December 2009, Logwin switched deliveries for an additional approximately 30 BMW dealers in the states of Thuringia and Saxony to Nuremberg. These had previously been served from Berlin.
Logwin has been performing complex logistics projects for BMW at various locations in Germany and Switzerland for several years. Most recently, Logwin assumed responsibility for additional distribution and warehousing services on behalf of the car manufacturer in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Zurich.
