Contract uncertainty results in service disruption
Carrefour in Belgium is facing supply chain disruption following employee strike action at Ternat Logistics, a subsidiary of Kuehne + Nagel. Local news reports suggest that deliveries to a further five hypermarkets at Herstal, Bierges, Sint-Agatha-Berchem, Sint-Denijs-Westrem and Zemst are being disrupted. It is understood that Ternat operates with Carrefour as its sole customer and its contract is up for renewal in June 2010.
Initially, deliveries to three Carrefour hypermarkets in Oostakker, Kraainem and Evere had been disrupted.
