Carter Backer Winter LLP (CBW) and Logistics UK, in conjunction with the leading independent logistics research firm Analytiqa, have undertaken a survey of companies’ expectations for mergers & acquisitions (M&A) activity in the sector over the next 12 months.
The survey, which involved senior executives within logistics companies in the UK, provides a view on expected trends in M&A, including valuations, and also touches on some of the most important issues facing companies in the sector, particularly in light of Covid-19 and Brexit.
The index number is higher than might have been expected at the outset of the research, in light of the unprecedented environment in which the sector finds itself. It suggests that M&A will continue to form a key part of companies’ strategies. Indeed, we believe that should be the case, as operators seek to build resilience, continue to grow and diversify through Covid-19 and beyond.
