Rather than revisiting the case for decarbonisation already addressed in the 'Decarbonising the Road Freight Sector' report, published by FTA Ireland in 2024, this document focuses on what to do to address the needs of forestry as a specific sector, who needs to be involved, and how we will measure progress. This report delivers a clear baseline for today’s operations and costs, one version of the truth to underpin decisions and a pilot pipeline that prioritises real routes, real fleets and real constraints, so lessons transfer quickly from trial to daily practice.
